About

Roman Weber

Thirty years of craft, one principle: good films come out of a conversation.

Portrait of Roman Weber
  • Videographer, director, camera operator
  • In moving image since 1992
  • Certified TV journalist, MAZ Lucerne
  • Zurich

I have been making films for over thirty years. I started in 1992 on ENG crews, then spent years as an editor, producer and video journalist behind hundreds of reports and shows for RingierTV and PresseTV. After my diploma in TV journalism at the MAZ in Lucerne I built the online video team at Tagesanzeiger, and later the corporate video department at Julius Bär.

My own projects shaped me just as much: the documentary «Made in China», the edit of the feature film «Bersten», and the experimental art project Videosafari with its travelling cinema. And when the right rooms don’t exist, I build them myself — the colour grading studio Digital Woods in Wald as much as the video studios for Tagesanzeiger and Julius Bär.

Since 2001 I have run my own production company, SLOMO video'n'visions GmbH. And because I enjoy passing on knowledge as much as I enjoy making films, I have taught for years as a media coach: from shooting on a smartphone through camera and editing to AI workflows. Among others for Tamedia, 20 Minuten, the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute and FocusMedia.
